Level 1 and 2 Testing.

The Fitness Level standards for December 2010 are finalized. All requirements must be completed during the month of December, 2010 and signed off by Tim, Sean, Matt, Trish or Graeme. Remember, this is OPTIONAL.

Make sure that you fill in your name and weight for the appropriate gender before you print it out. No print out, no testing.

Testing is allowed before or after class when a coach is available and on Saturdays in December and 1/1/11 from 9am-10am.

Thank you to everyone for being so supportive of our trip to Austin. We learned so much and are excited about the future of CrossFit Palo Alto and the new programs and offerings that will be coming in the near future.

Thanksgiving Schedule:

Thursday – Closed

Friday – No 5am or 7:30pm. Regular schedule otherwise.

Other announcements:

You now have 5 minutes to get in and get ready. The warm-up starts promptly at 5 minutes after the class time. If you are late or not ready, it is 20 burpees to join the class. Do the burpees and then join in.

Starting Monday, 11/29, evening class times will shift to 5, 6 and 7pm. This is a permanent change.

11/17 – 11/20

We will be traveling to CrossFit Central in Austin, Texas for a seminar that will help us be a better CrossFit gym.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

But all is not lost. If you show up to the gym at the normal class time, you will find directions for a park workout for each day. Wait 5 minutes for everyone to show up, get the sheet for your class time, run to the park together, perform the workout together and run back together. Feel free to use the facebook page to coordinate your efforts. These workouts will be self-directed and scalable to all levels. To ensure everyone’s safety, use the buddy system and DO NOT TRAIN ALONE. These workouts will also be posted to the facebook page.

There is no need to sign up for these days. So train as much as you’d like, or can handle.

Changes, Changes, Changes

CrossFit Palo Alto is growing! Welcome to all the new members and to all those prospective members. Following are some of the changes coming through to allow us to handle the growth and to make your experience the best it can be.

First, we have added even more classes. Tuesday and Thursday now have 5:30pm classes to go with Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please refer to our online sign-up page to get your login and start signing up for classes. Note: You must have a monthly membership to sign-in. If you are a visitor or drop-in, please contact me before showing up. Class limits have been set to ensure class quality and experience. Clicker HERE to go to the SIGN-IN page.

For the following Saturdays, class will be at 9am to accomodate our participation in the Weekend Warrior Series. This is the first CrossFit Affiliate League where we will face-off head to head with another affiliate for bragging rights and to share in the Community of Fitness. Come and support the two teams we have competing. The dates of competition are September 11th and 18th and October 2nd and 16th. We will be hosting Mad Dawg Fitness on 9/18 and San Carlos CrossFit on 10/2 while traveling to CrossFit San Jose on 9/11 and CrossFit Silicon Valley on 10/16. Game times are 11am.

On October 1st we will celebrate our 1 Year Anniversary. So let’s have a party! Following the throwdown with San Carlos CrossFit on October 2nd we will be having a gym-wide extravaganza including Level 1 and 2 Awards, Olympic Weightlifting Shoe Dedications and miscellaneous Feats of Strenf! Finally, we have new Sweatshirts, T-Shirts and Tank Tops available for sale. Cost is $45 for sweatshirts and $20 for T’s and Tanks.
